Frequently Asked Questions
What is a CTF?
A CTF (Capture the Flag) is a cybersecurity competition where participants solve challenges to obtain “flags” (usually in the form of a string) hidden in the challenges. These flags are then submitted to the CTF platform to score points. The team with the highest score wins the CTF.
What is the format of the CTF?
The CTF will be held offline at the LPU Campus. The challenges will be hosted on a private network, and participants will be provided with access to the network. The challenges will be dynamic, and the participants will have to solve them in real-time. People outside the campus will not be able to access the challenges.
How can I form a team?
You can form a team of up to 4 members. You can either form a team with your friends or join an existing team. If you don’t have a team, you can join our Whatsapp group or Discord server and find a team there.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes, all participants will receive a certificate of participation along with schwaggss. The top 3 teams will receive certificates of merit.
I am a beginner. Can I participate?
Yes, the CTF is beginner-friendly. You will definitely learn a lot from the challenges. We will also be hosting talks and workshops during the event to get you started in Cyber Security. PS: I am a noobie too. :P
Will we get food and a place to take rest?
Yes, we will be providing food and refreshments to all participants. We will also be providing a place (cozy mattresses included xd) to take rest.
What are the timings of the CTF?
The CTF will start at 08:00 AM on 26th January and will end during afternoon on 27th January. The timings are subject to change.
I am a Verto, will I get Duty Leave?
Yes, you will get duty leave for the CTF. Girls will also be allowed to stay out of the hostel during the CTF.
